How long will my sunless tan last? How long is a piece of a string?? On the vast majority of people it lasts about 5-7 days but this depends on the individual person. Your own skin type, beauty / lifestyle regime, prescription medications taken etc etc You get the jist here. Your skin also naturally exfoliates everyday so it can depend on how fast this happens, but to help slow this process down you need to really look after your skin by moisturising / hydrating your skin as often as possible.
What will happen during my treatment? On your very first tanning session with Tan-Talising, I will give you a consultation card to fill out and ask a few questions regarding your skin / lifestyle to ensure I choose the correct colour. As I set-up the equipment, you will get undressed or change into your underwear and remove any jewellery. I will then give you some Barrier Cream to apply in specific areas to prevent them from absorbing too much tan. The spraying will take around 10 minutes and I will explain what is happening at each stage. You will then have a few minutes at the end to dry before putting on your pyjamas or loose comfy clothing.
How long will the spray tan take to dry and will it go on my clothes? You are fine to get dressed as soon as you leave the cubicle as long as you ideally have dark, loose fitting clothes. This is to ensure that the tan is as fully protected as much as possible. It will rub off on your clothing as it is a lotion and it may stain lighter coloured items.
Can I still have a spray tan if I have sensitive skin or if I am pregnant? If you have highly sensitive skin please double check with your doctor that a spray tan will be ok. If you have had problems or any allergic reactions after a previous spray tan before then you MUST make me aware of this so we can discuss your options. In all situations, a pregnant or nursing woman should ask her doctor / midwife first before using any product. NHS Direct offers further advice on the subject of pregnancy and fake tan.
Will the spray go over my furniture and carpet? I bring a pop up cubicle for you to stand in (210cm high x 120cm wide x 120cm deep) to ensure that your home is left 'Tan Free'. I only spray you when you are inside and I bring plenty of towels so that the tan does not go onto your carpet. I do require a room with adequate lighting and ventilation. If anything unforseen where to happen, dont worry as I am Fully Insured.
What about streaking or turning orange? I am an experienced therapist and I will ensure that the correct solution is chosen for your skin tone. Sienna x have a large range of colours available for a natural sun-kissed look. I double check you to ensure full coverage & make sure that you are happy before I leave.
Streaking or Patchiness will only occur if something accidental happens after I have left or you have certain skin conditions, pregnant, on HRT, did not follow the preparation details or used products which affected the Tan itself. You must ensure that you wash with your hands only and that all the guide colour is removed on your first shower.
My Tan was perfect till I got in the shower. My legs were the only part that started to streak? This has happened to only 3 clients in the whole time that I have been spraying. There is no real answer to this question as everyone’s skin is different and sometimes stress and difference in hormone levels can contribute to what parts of your body take to the Tan. HOWEVER - a regular client of mine that this once hapened too, found that if she got in the shower, took the shower head down and rinsed off her legs first before leaning her top half back under to rinse the rest of her body, her legs were perfect! If you are worried that this could happen to you, please try this method.
My Tan was perfect but after I showered some areas had white spots? This is commonly due to a Fungal Skin Infection and you need to consult your GP. One of the main reasons for this - is previous over use of Sunbeds and the Sunbed hasnt been cleaned regularly.
