Jacqui Tan's EXPERT Advice - Just for You.

Never spend longer than 15 minutes in the bath or shower.
Hot water strips your skin of its natural oils. When your skin is still damp, slap on as much moisturiser as you can, paying lots of attention to the bottom half of your legs as you have fewer oil-producing glands in this area so they get drier than the rest of your body.

If you want your Spray Tan to look perfect for as long as possible then please avoid.
Shaving with a blunt razor,
Rough Towel Drying after your shower,
Scrubbing too hard when washing,
Lounging in Hot Tubs/Jacuzzi's and being in the swimming pool for a long period of time.

How to prevent some parts of your body looking quite patchy after 3-4 days.
You follow the aftercare instructions to the last letter but something still goes wrong. Certain parts of your body look like you have sort of disease or turned into a reptile. This is your skin simply showing you the driest areas which you need to start showing a little more attention too. Your skin needs to be constantly moisturised before, during and after your tan.
Looking after yourself better day to day will dramatically improve the condition of your skin.

To ensure your tan has 'lasting power' and remains vibrant.
Unfortunatley your tan will naturally wear off your hands, face & feet before the rest of your body. This is purely down to washing these areas more frequently, additonal products used there and your feet sweating. Sienna-x have just the solution for this problem - The mighty Tan Top Up Tanning Mist in a can. Just spray on and in 2 hours your fading areas are back to looking as good as the rest of you. Products/medications to avoid as they can affect the colour or often parts of your body from taking.
Dove soap and shower gel, Head and Shoulders shampoo, Curel lotion, Loafa's, Anti-Ageing Products (AHA), Retin-A type products, Toners containing Alcohol or Witch Hazel, Anti-Acne Products (Salicylic Acid), Depilatory Products, Perfumed baby/face wipes, Products that are Oily, Coco-Butter Products. Anti-Depressents, Migraleve, Some Anti-Biotics, Cancer, Diabetic or Heart Medications.

Did you know that Your Spray Tan can also be affected by your hormones?
Its not enough that us women struggle on so many levels each day with our hormones but they add to our annoyance by affecting our bodies on the outside too. Give us a break eh! They can cause blotchiness, the colour may not develop very well / go too dark or wash off after only a few days. These are too name but a few girls. Stress, Illness, Preganancy or the Time of the Month are usually the main culprits. I have had cases thou where the latter mentioned actually lengthens the duration of your tan.

Best methods on how to Remove your old Spray Tan effectively.
Rub your skin with baby oil and leave for 10 minutes before jumping into the bath. Using Head & Shoulders original Shampoo & an Exfoliating Glove, scrub your skin and watch the Tan glide off. Rough towel dry and then moisturise

Making up a mixture of lemon juice and baking soda will also strip a tan off in minutes. Relax in a hot bath, and then exfoliate with the mixture. For stubborn areas, leave it on for a few minutes before exfoliating.

If none of these methods work, it means that the spray tan just cannot be removed.
Let time take its course, soak in the tub every day, and keep your skin moisturized. Choose only one product, and stick to it. Do not use multiple products to get rid of sunless tanner from your skin, or you will just irritate your skin and possibly cause it to dry out.

Your tan is always really 'dark' under your armpits.
A couple of suggestions here - Rubbing with a baby wipe will strip away some of the colour for you - I find Johnson's wipes are particulary good for this job. When your beauty therapist has left, just pat a little Talcum Powder under your armpits so your sweat cant ruin the colour or ask your therpaist from some barrier cream to apply post tanning.

Parts of your body and/or your armpits have gone green.
This is basically caused by products that have been left on the skin post tanning and cheap jewellery. The best thing to do is really scrub those areas before your appointment in future, change your anti-persperant products to something less harsh on the skin, avoid perfume, body sprays and doctor prescribed creams / ointments on the day of your tan.
