Mobile Minx Nails FAQ's
How Long do the Minx Last? It can depend on several factors but usually Minx on Fingernails last around a week. They may wear (not chip) slightly at the free edge of the heavily used part of the nail but they will not wear any further than that. A week or so is perfect, as you can then change your design to match your wardrobe for your next night out or special occasion.
Minx on the Toenails can last anywhere from 6-8 weeks, depending on your own nail growth.
How long does Minx take to dry? Once Minx is applied to the nail you are ready to go. No drying time is needed.
I have nail Enhancements - can I get Minx? YES! As long as your Enhancements have been done recently. The nail bed should be flat from the cuticle to the tip. If there are any gaps then the Minx won’t sit properly on top properly and won’t be perfectly sealed.
Is it just manicures/pedicures & Minx Nails that you do? YES! You will still need to go to your local salon if you wish to have gel or acrylic nail enhancements.
My nails have no Tip as I have bitten them right down-Can I still Get minx? NO! You need a Tip (free edge) to work with to be able to file the Minx off and create a proper all round seal. If your nails are not in a good condition, I suggest buying some Solar Oil from myself and getting those nails back to perfect condition.
What if I don't want a manicure on my natural nail - Can I still get Minx'd? No! Your natural Nail needs to be prepared in order for the Minx to adhere to the nail bed properly. This will ensure that you get the maximum time from your Minx. If you have recent Nail Enhancements then it is only £15 for your Minx as I do not need to do a Manicure.
Can I just get a manicure without Minx? Yes! For £15 I will manicure your nails then buff to a shine so you look like you are wearing clear varnish.
My nails curve downwards at the tip - Can I get Minx? NO! This is a more of a common problem on the Toe nails from squeezing your feet into shoes that don't fit properly.
Do I need to provide anything? YES, Small Table and 2 Chairs, if you are unable to provide a table and/or chairs then please let me know when you book your appointment so I can take equipment with me.
Will Minx come off if I go for a bath? NO! Minx has a waterproof seal that will not release until the seal has been broken. This can happen if you pick at the Minx and lift an edge.
Can I remove the Minx myself? YES, This can be done by placing your nails under a heat source such as your hairdryer. Once the minx is warm, work loose an edge and slowly peel the minx off going from side to side (never top to bottom) Apply a nail moisturiser when you are done or use your solar oil to put nourishment back into your natural nail.
What is Solar Oil? It is a mixture of high quality lightweight oils that can actually enter in between your natural nail and your Minx. It shrinks your eponychium (what most people think is their cuticle) and keeps the skin soft around the nail unit. This fantastic oil can also strengthen your nails and you don't need to have any nail enhancements to be able to use it. It has been voted top nail product by the Beauty Editors of countless magazines and it does exactly what it says on the bottle.
Here are some aftercare tips to keep your nails in pristine condition:
- Use solar oil daily to keep your nails in top condition!!!
- Do not use your nails as tools, try and use your fingertips
- Always wear gloves when using cleaning products
- Try and not use the free edge of your nail when typing & general office duties
- Use acetone free nail polish remover if you have to go without Minx
- File your nails gently and from side to centre in both directions
- Never file down the side of your nail
- Never bite your nails
- Wear gloves in cold weather and moisturise regularly to keep hands supple
What is the benefit of having a Pedicure? All feet are born beautiful then life takes its toll as our feet lead us forward, bearing our weight, being squeezed into wrongly shaped shoes, having to balance on the highest of heels but yet they are taken for granted.
Having a pedicure is more than just a special treat, it’s a matter of good grooming! If your feet feel comfortable, look good then your whole body feels better. Having regular pedicures will also help prevent infection and other foot problems.
